The project
The challenge
Students often face the challenge of setting up their university accommodations, finding it difficult to acquire essential items for the bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom upon arrival. There is a clear need for a simplified solution to help students settle into their new living spaces without the stress of buying and transporting basic necessities.
The approach
To tackle this challenge, we developed UniKit, a service specifically designed to ease students' transition into university life. Our approach involves collaborating with universities and suppliers to curate customized kits that meet the direct needs of students. We use a platform developed in React for a seamless ordering process and employ Node.js on the backend to manage logistics, order management, and integration with delivery services.
The solution
UniKit now successfully delivers customized kits containing all the essentials directly to students' accommodations even before they arrive. This service ensures that students can immediately settle into their new homes with everything they need, from bed sheets to kitchen utensils. Our scalable web application supports this service seamlessly, offering an intuitive interface for placing orders, real-time tracking, and customer support, all hosted on a reliable cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
